Saturday 25 June 2022
Rhys Mair Memorial Trail Champs for Runners
King & Queen of the Mountain for Walkers
Clubrooms, Trentham Memorial Park

Runners hit one of our great trail options, Keith George Memorial Park for the club trail champs. Some technical single trail and sharp hill work, its a tough little course. We had our biggest turn out for this event yet. There were some great battles within the race, some folks pushing a little too hard taking tumbles in there. Nothing too serious but a good reminder that our backyard trails aren't to be underestimated.

Timed results are here.

Walkers pushed to the top of Riverstone Terrace, an unusual race being such a steep and long hill. Some close times within the group made for good racing.

King: Jon Roskvist
Queen: Steph Robinson

Sunday 19 June 2022
Wellington Marathon
Sky Stadium, Wellington

Josh Campbell took 5th in the marathon with 2:50, a fantastic result for a trail specialist. Brian Garmonsway took 8th in the half marathon with 1:13. Findlay, Phil B, Philip, Rachel, Sarah, Scott and Tom all smashing their PBs too. A great effort everyone.

Our walkers had amazing success in the 10km walk. Jon Roskvist won the event and Jackie Wilson took 3rd overall. They finished first male and female respectively.

Saturday 11 June 2022
Dorne Cup
Clubrooms, Trentham Memorial Park

The second interclub Wellington championship event of the season - the Dorne Cup. Despite some rain and thunder in the days prior, the course wasn't all that bad. Certainly muddy in some sections but overall not attrocious and very runnable.

The online results are still preliminary and edits are being made by the race organisers.

We had three victories amongst our 53 finishers. Top 10 placings below.

Novice & Presidents Races for Runners
Steve Plowman Trophy for U12
Bob Clark Memorial Trophy for Walkers
Clubrooms, Trentham Memorial Park

Another beautiful still day. I'm going to say it, winter still hasn't arrived! To be fair though, the course was slow in sections where recent rain and shadow is making the ground a little gluggy, and the stream was running a little higher.

Shaw Baton Relays
Battle Hill Farm Forest Park

What a day for Trentham United Harriers. With 16 teams entered (one more than last year), this is a record for the club and highlights how much we are growing in numbers and strength. As for the racing, we had some stunning team and individual results.

The U20 Junior Mens team claimed victory in their age group and in the process managed to beat all of the senior and masters men's teams in the same race.

The U14 Girls also claimed victory in their event.

Our teams had seven podium finishes all up.

As far as individual efforts, Thomas Strawbridge recorded the fastest lap of the entire day with a rapid 6:15.1!! Madison Wos recorded the fastest individual time in the U14 Girls field, and Stephen Mair the fastest individual time in the MM60+ field.

In the U20 Junior Mens race, Daniel Du Toit recorded the fastest individual time, and Josh Jordan the second fastest. In fact the U20 Junior Men's team ran a stunner with everyone recording 6:47.0 or quicker. Only a single other runner in the entire U20 Junior Men's field recorded a faster time.
