About Our Juniors

Our Junior Division caters for young runners who are willing to improve their fitness and ability. From beginners through to those that wish to compete, we aim to support all members to achieve their goals. While there is a focus on competition and improvement, the coach makes the sessions fun and engaging for all involved.

We compete at interclub races and set a high standard in Club representation. Our Junior members, at all levels, are encouraged to compete at the interclub events and also the Wellington Cross Country and Road Championship events. This gives them race experience where they are able to practice racing strategies.

Our Club prides itself in the high level of comradeship our young runners show towards each other and many great friendships have been made.

Our Junior division is coached by Darryl Robinson with Shar McDonald as Junior Administration/Liaison. Darryl has many years experience and provides advice on levels of fitness, race planning and preparation, nutrition and setting goals. He coaches the primary, intermediate and college runners through their school, inter-school, inter-provincial, through to National competitions.

The Trentham United Harrier Club Season for Juniors begins in April and finishes in September with Junior prize-giving.
