We are the largest group of runners and walkers in the Upper Hutt valley. Our Club is built around friendly local people who just enjoy running and walking at all ages and ability levels.
Our goal is to encourage people of all ages to get fit in an easy and fun way, and those that are fit to get faster.
See the About Us page for more details - membership registration link, our training times & days, information about each of our races and more.

Club Day & Mad Dash Relay, Clubrooms, Trentham Memorial Park
Our second club day of the 2026 season start with a little cross country taster. The Mad Dash Relay is a fun early season race that everyone can have a crack at. Get a feel for how cross country works and its only 1km! Random teams with a spread of ages and abilities - doesn't matter how fast or slow you might be. This is all about having some fun and is a great way to get into cross country running. Usual 1:30 start time.
Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 April 2026
Faultline Ultra

Faultline Ultra.

Shaw Baton Cross Country Relays
Battle Hill
Barely a few weeks into the season and we hit the first inter-club race. Get those spikes dusted off! This one is a team relay, only 2km, and fantastic variation in terrain - thick grass, gravel tracks, log jumps, a water jump over mostly flat to undulating track with one sharp uphill & downhill. A great race to kick off the season.
Details on the event are on the interclub race page.
Any parents heading out to watch their kids race, we strongly encourage you to register and have a run! The club will pay your entry fee and you get to stretch your legs for 10-15 minutes! Give it a go and see if you like this cross-country thing...
If you want to be in a team:
The Rotorua Marathon (inc NZ Masters Marathon champs) are also on this weekend.
Saturday 9 May 2026
University Cross Country Relays
Chocolate Walk
Mackays Crossing
The second inter-club of the year takes place over on the Kapiti Coast. The University Cross Country Relay and Chocolate walk tops out at 3.5km for U20 and older so very achievable for a newer runner. The shorter course means there is always someone nearby to try and catch. It's a great little grassy/gravel course with very short punchy hills - good fun. If there has been a lot of rain, the course can get delightfully boggy too.
The race will continue to double as the Wellington Mixed XC Relay. Further encouraging everyone to give it a go, should be an interesting race.
And as I've mentioned for Battle Hill, any parents heading out to watch their kids race, we strongly encourage you to register and have a run! The club will pay your entry fee and you get to stretch your legs. Give it a go and see if you like this cross-country thing...

Vosseler Shield
Mt Victoria
The Vosseler Shield - the last race of the Autumn classics and the first individual race on the inter-club calendar for those registered as a competitive athlete.
This year the venue has changed. Mt Victoria was great terrain to race but the cost of traffic management was getting brutal and other factors combined to lead the organisers to have a re-think. They came up with a plan and are having a crack. The new course is based around Sinclair Park. We will get information published once we are provided with it.
Please throw your support into this, and go in with an open mind. The course continues the spirit of Mt Vic and looks to honour the Vosseler Shield.
Check out our inter-club page for info on this long standing classic race.
The clubrooms typically wouldn't be open today, however if there is a group not heading to Mt Vic but wanting to use the clubroom, you will need to organise yourselves.

Dorne Cup
Trentham Memorial Park
The start of winter, so likely cold, wet and muddy - glorious cross country weather! The first interclub race in winter is The Dorne Cup - a cross country on our home ground. It is the second non-relay race on the inter-club calendar for those registered as a competitive athlete. This can be a very fast race if the conditions aren't too muddy, and if it is muddy requires a combination of speed and power. Well worth watching as it is quite a spectator friendly course. Check out our inter-club page for info on this long standing classic race.
Saturday 20-21 June 2026

There will be several of our own harriers competing, representing their respective schools. Good luck!
Club day may go ahead but based elsewhere, or we may be involved in a bbq fundraiser. We will keep you posted.

Wellington and NZ Mountain Running Champs
Mt Kaukau
The Wellington and NZ Mountain Running Championships continued last years brutal weather conditions. Last weeks Cyclone Vaianu ended up being rather mild in comparison with todays rain, lightning and wind! Even so, many brave souls from the club hit the course and should be very proud of their efforts.

Porirua Grand Traverse
Christchurch Marathon
Write up from Stephen: A new course for the Porirua Grand Traverse Mountain Run extended it to 21km with 1000m of ascent. It started with a climb up the 700+ steps to the top of Colonial Knob and included some tough technical downhill sections.
